Leon County Government, along with many members of the local, regional, and state medical community, recognized the men and women of the nationally accredited Leon County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for ten years of service, excellence, and innovation in this community. Hosted in the Leon County EMS Operations Center, the celebration ceremony featured Leon County leadership, patients saved by excellent care, and many of the EMS team members, 33 in total, who served from the first call on December 31, 2003. Since that first call, Leon County EMS has responded to more than 300,000 requests for assistance.
