Capital Area Emergency Management Partners and local leaders gathered Friday, May 24, for a news conference to announce the upcoming hurricane season, the launch of the 2013 Hurricane Survival Guide and to re-emphasize the importance of hurricane preparedness.
The event was held at 10 a.m. at the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, 1115 Easterwood Drive, and representatives from the Red Cross, the Leon County Board of County Commissioners, the Tallahassee City Commission, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, the National Weather Service-Tallahassee office, area emergency management and emergency response agencies were in attendance.
