Through guided tours and hands on learning activities, youth participants learn how reducing, reusing, and recycling at home can improve the neighborhood in which they live, playing a key role in creating a sustainable community.

The Luscious Layered Landfill
This food layering activity teaches them about how a landfill is constructed and the items we have in place to protect the aquifer (which is represented by blue Jello). The campers will eat their landfill later in the afternoon for a snack.
