Leon County, the City of Tallahassee, Knight Creative Communities Institute (KCCI) and the non-profit organization The Village Square will host a community forum and workshop on Thursday, January 24 featuring Peter Kageyama, author of the book "For The Love of Cities: The Love Affair Between People and Their Places."
The community forum begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Planetarium of the Challenger Learning Center, 200 S. Duval St., and is free and open to the public. RSVP is required at
www.tothevillagesquare.org . For more information, please contact (850) 264-8785. The invitation-only community workshop, entitled “For the Love of Tallahassee + Leon County,” begins at 1 p.m. at the Florida State University Alumni Center, 1030 W. Tennessee St.
Kageyama has previously made presentations to City and County Commissioners along with their leadership staff and KCCI catalysts. His Thursday presentations will focus on how, as a creative community, Tallahassee and Leon County can take action to transform into an even more vibrant, unique and “lovable” place.
Both events will encourage participants to identify locally-based initiatives to help residents connect with the Tallahassee and Leon County community. He stresses that these ideas do not require significant resources and can be implemented quickly.
