Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor and The MLK Foundation of Florida, Inc. invited the public to attend a celebration to observe the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 12 p.m. in the North Rotunda of the Leon County Courthouse.
Ms. Doby Flowers, Florida Women’s Hall of Fame recipient, was the speaker for the occasion. Leon County Commission Chairman Nick Maddox brought greetings for the event.

The honorees for this occasion will be Ms. Gerri Chambers, Community Service; Mr. Davey Owens, Helping from the Heart; One Church, One Child; Dr. Edward Holifield, Community Advocate; Mrs. Dorothy Inman Johnson, Literary Contributor; Ms. Kimberly Moore, Employment/Workforce Development; and Dr. Jim Murdaugh, Education Contributor.
